Hundertwasser Studio

Three minutes' walk from the Hundertwasserhaus, and a little of its spirit: the studio on Löwengasse dares to use colour — teal kitchen fronts, terracotta tiles, curated art prints and not a single straight curtain rail (a joke — there is one). Behind it lies solid period craftsmanship: a good bed, a rain shower, a desk by the window, a small balcony onto the courtyard. The Weißgerber quarter is Vienna's underrated creative neighbourhood: the Kunst Haus Wien, ateliers, the Donaukanal with its bars — all on the doorstep.
